The weather is mild year-round, ranging from the 70s in winter to 80s in the summer. November through May are ideal, with sunny, dry days and cooler nights. Summer months are more humid but there are still cooling ocean breezes. September and October constitute the rainy season, with most of the precipitation falling at night. December through March is whale season, when the humpbacks are in the bay, and can often be spotted from the house, breaching and spouting.

Is Punta Mita safe?

Punta Mita is a gated community with 24/7 security guards at all entrances and patrolling the beach. The Four Seasons and St. Regis Hotels are also inside the gates, as are private holdings of tech billionaires like Bill Gates. We have hosted the President of Mexico, ambassadors, NBA All-Star players and more at Casa Querencia.

For medical care, the state-of-the-art Punta Mita Hospital is a five-minute drive from the house (and the doctors also do house calls). They do Covid-19 tests, have an ICU, and can handle everything from cardiology to orthopedic surgery.

Our chef will prepare three meals a day of fresh Mexican-inspired fare. Our staff is happy to accommodate any special diets. Meals are included, guests just pay the cost of groceries.

The water in Punta Mita comes from a mountain aquifer, and it is triple-filtered at the house, so it is safe to brush your teeth with and even drink. Many guests, however, prefer bottled water, which we provide (we even provide guests with Casa Querencia-labeled reusable water bottles to take home with you).

There are many lively restaurants in the town of Punta Mita, where you can sit with your toes in the sand and enjoy fresh-caught fish and Mexican specialties. We have never had a problem with eating at the restaurants in town, however if you are concerned about food safety you can eat all your meals at the house (as well as the beach clubs and hotel restaurants).
